An Extraordinary Construction Project

This summer, our modular kitchens are in the spotlight thanks to the 2025 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, showcasing our expertise and our position as a leader in France.

Carefully planned over several months, this extraordinary project required flawless logistical coordination. More than 200 modules were installed, including cooking areas, laundry facilities, cold storage rooms, and food preparation areas…

This large-scale operation made it possible to effectively meet catering needs throughout this international sporting event. In addition, to ensure maximum responsiveness during the competition phases, our teams were on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing a reliable, high-quality solution throughout the event.

New and innovative equipment

A total of 2,000 new pieces of equipment were delivered and deployed across 82 locations in Paris and the Île-de-France region. These include ovens, self-service lines, refrigerated display cases, blast chillers, stainless steel tables, hood-type dishwashers, and more—as well as brand-new, innovative equipment. Among them:

  • Odorless deep fryer. This deep fryer produces thousands of kilograms of odorless french fries with absolutely no risk. It is enclosed and 100% automatic: it discharges the fries once cooking is complete. With no direct access to hot oil, this deep fryer minimizes the risk of burns and fire. • Mobile cooking cart with exhaust system. Equipped with casters, the cooking cart features a rear exhaust system. This highly mobile unit is ideal for front-cooking presentations. Click here to rent a mobile cooking cart.

People Skills

In an international construction project, human resources management is a key factor for success. Given the complexity of the project, a dedicated in-house team was set up to coordinate the various stages and ensure that deadlines were met. This exceptional project also required several new hires to strengthen the teams with specialized talent.

On a construction site of this scale, accident prevention is paramount. We have provided all PPE, and all new hires have also completed training. Every new employee receives a safety handbook upon arrival, designed to raise awareness of best practices and ensure compliance with the site’s strict safety rules.

Most of the production team is based in TOULOUSE, which allows for centralized management of site operations. A dedicated team has been set up at the brand-new ABLIS site to handle the logistics related to receiving and managing new equipment.

Green Kitchens

This event aims to be as sustainable as possible. The rental model is part of the sharing economy: using only what is needed. As a result, we will reuse all equipment and modules after the event, giving them a second life in a school, an open-air café, a central kitchen, etc.

LocaCuisines has also developed several innovations, in collaboration with its partners, to make its kitchens more eco-friendly. These include:

  • Solar panels. The CONTAINWATT solution is designed to connect to containers or modules. Thanks to the solar panels, the kitchen becomes self-sufficient in electricity. The CONTAINWATT EZ solution is designed to connect to a Quick&Eat container.
  • Energy Optimization & Monitoring. This solution has made it possible to manage and optimize kitchen energy consumption in a new way while ensuring that appliances continue to operate properly. The observed savings amount to between 10 and 15% on energy costs.
  • Digital Companion. Every large kitchen is equipped with a digital terminal. In real time, users have access to a range of information: electricity consumption, electricity generation (if connected to solar panels), cold room temperatures with alerts, user manuals for each piece of equipment, a direct link to our e-commerce site www.mylocacuisines.fr, and direct contact with our Support team.
  • CO2-powered cold rooms. Traditionally, cold rooms are cooled using refrigerants, which are extremely polluting. For this event, we installed CO2-powered cold rooms (-67% CO2 emissions). In addition, these next-generation cold rooms consume 25.4% less electricity.

You can incorporate all of these innovations into your modular kitchen design.
